We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hedge Fund Operations Analyst to join our Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a 2nd jobber with strong exposure to investment operations who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced hedge fund environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Investment, Trading, Finance, Risk and Compliance teams, taking ownership of a range of daily operational processes across the trade lifecycle and supporting the smooth running of the firm’s investment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from trade capture through to settlement and reconciliation.
• Monitor and resolve trade breaks, settlement issues and exceptions across multiple asset classes.
• Perform daily cash, position and transaction reconciliations between internal books and records, prime brokers, custodians and administrators.
• Liaise with prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians, counterparties and trading counterparties to resolve operational queries.
• Support the processing and validation of corporate actions, including dividends, stock splits, mergers and other events.
• Assist with fund NAV oversight, reviewing administrator calculations and investigating discrepancies.
• Monitor cash movements, funding requirements and FX activity.
• Support the onboarding of new instruments, accounts, brokers and counterparties.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure appropriate controls are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing operational processes.
• Produce regular operational reports and management information.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Finance, Compliance and Technology.
• Support ad-hoc projects, including new fund launches, system implementations and process enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 1–3 years’ experience within hedge fund, asset management, investment banking or financial services operations.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and investment operations.
• Experience with reconciliations, settlements, trade processing and exception management.
• Exposure to working with prime brokers, fund administrators and custodians.
• Good understanding of financial instruments such as equities, bonds, FX, derivatives and/or structured products.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data manipulation.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong control mindset.
• Ability to investigate problems, identify root causes and drive issues through to resolution.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise effectively and work accurately under pressure.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working within a hedge fund or alternative investment manager.
• Experience with platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, Geneva, Eze, Enfusion, Advent or similar.
• Exposure to derivatives, OTC products or complex investment strategies.
• Experience with operational automation, VBA, SQL, Python or other data tools.
• Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or a related discipline.
